8.9.10 Rocky Mount, North Carolina
As one Tom Vesce Departs, three more Tom Vesces come in!
The Board of Directors of The Original Log Cabin Homes are proud to announce that New York lumberman and private equity venture capitalist Ernest D. Vesce will be the company's new president in 2011.
Ernest brings high integrity, leadership and the business skills necessary to take the company to the next level.
He already heads up Log Cabin's "Special Project" action team that is implementing a three prong aggressive expansion into new markets, products and new facilities by means of acquisitions and ground breaking at new locations.
"He cut his baby teeth in the lumber business" said outgoing President Tom Vesce. "Few people have the knowledge and years of experience in both the forest products and housing industries that Ernest posesses".
However, Log Cabin Homes will not depart with the name Tom Vesce.
Ernest, a first cousin of outgoing President Tom Vesce, will bring more than himself to the company.
In the Vesce family; the name "Tom" is somewhat prolific.
Ernest's Great Grandfather and Grandfather were both named Tom Vesce.
Ernest's fathers name is Tom Vesce and another first cousin and two nephews are all named Tom Vesce.
Three of these Tom Vesces will join Ernest in various capacities at Log Cabin Homes.
As one Tom Vesce departs, three more Tom Vesces come in!
"I told my father when he was alive that I will be ready to retire when I turn 55 rather than at his retirement age of 50" said the retiring Tom Vesce. "I missed the mark by two years".
Retiring Vesce's plans do not include an extended stay at the local retirement home. He will remain in the log home industry as a consultant and will focus his attention on international timber procurement and the resort industry.
As he begins to load his pickup truck for his drive into the sunset; an exciting new dawn awaits The Original Log Cabin Homes Ltd.
